The Weight of the Walls

Feature Film / In Development / Psychological Thriller / Spanish
Dir. Marco Vélez Esquivia
Status:
- 50% of the Budget Secured.

Logline: When their mother dies, three estranged siblings reunite at their childhood home and uncover a hidden archive of home videos that expose a violent family secret—one that may implicate them all and turn their reunion into a deadly reckoning with the past.
Director's Intent: The Weight of the Walls is a psychological thriller that transforms a family reunion into a claustrophobic mystery. As siblings are forced to confront disturbing evidence of what really happened inside their seemingly normal home, long-suppressed trauma, betrayal, and guilt surface. Blending domestic drama with escalating suspense, the story explores how family myths are constructed, how violence hides in plain sight, and how the truth, once unearthed, can be more destructive than silence.

Notre Weekend

Feature Film / In Preproduction / Romantic Drama / Spanish
Dir. Marco Vélez Esquivia
Status:
- A 10-year production a la Boyhood, starting in 2026 – ending in 2035.
- First year budget secured.
- Budget: USD $1.000.000
- In Soft Preproduction - Filming of First Year Scheduled for September.
Logline: Over ten years, a couple reunites on the same weekend, once a year, tracing how love, time, and circumstance quietly reshape who they are—and who they are to each other.
Director's Intent: Notre Weekend is a decade-long love story told in real time. Shot once a year over ten years, the film follows the same couple as they reunite on a single weekend, allowing the audience to witness how love, desire, and identity evolve under the pressure of time.
Inspired by Boyhood, the project uses duration as its core storytelling engine. Rather than dramatizing change, the film captures it organically—through aging bodies, shifting power dynamics, and the accumulation of shared history. Each chapter functions as a standalone moment, while together they form an intimate portrait of a relationship shaped by repetition and return.
Notre Weekend is designed as a high-concept, low-footprint production with strong festival and arthouse potential, offering a rare cinematic experience where time itself becomes the narrative.
Looking For: Co-Production partners.
CALI 1984

Feature Film / In Development / Crime - Cosmic Terror / Spanish
Dir. Marco Vélez Esquivia
Status:
- 23% of the Budget Secured.

Director's Intent: CALI 1984 explores the generational inheritance of trauma and violence through a journalist who uncovers her connection to an ancient cosmic cult. The film examines how the choices of one generation shape the next, manifesting here in a diabolical pact that demands sacrifices.
Thematically, the film delves into institutional corruption, the price of power, and the struggle between family duty and personal morality. More than a conventional thriller, it is a meta-horror that uses the supernatural to explore deep existential anxieties.
Looking For: Co-Production partners.
